White Ally Caucus 201

Thursday, July 16, 1:00pm PT / 4:00pm ET

Facilitated by Derek Hottel, Cara Lucia, Stan Shingles, and Mark Williams

If you attended this roundtable and have feedback on it, please share it here. If you have ideas for future caucuses, or would like to help facilitate, please send your ideas to nirsa@nirsa.org or contact a member of the NIRSA Board of Directors.

Please note that caucuses are not recorded.
This allows attendees to participate authentically and vulnerably in this dialogue.

This caucus is a part of NIRSA’s commitment to engaging in conversation and organizing action. Together we want to listen, learn, use our voices, and organize action.

Join NIRSA Board members Cara Lucia and Derek Hottell in conversation with their mentors, Stan Shingles and Mark Williams. This dialogue will model authenticity and vulnerability as these four leaders draw from their personal experiences to reflect on race and cultural competncy in campus recreation and NIRSA, as well as the larger systems and culture that create and sustain racism in the United States. All are welcome to listen and/or participate but the focus will be for NIRSA’s members who identify as white to do this work.

If you have an idea or would like to facilitate a caucus please let us know at nirsa@nirsa.org or reaching out to a member of the NIRSA Board of Directors.
