White Ally Caucus 101

Monday, June 22, 9:00am PT / 12:00pm ET

Facilitated by Derek Hottell and Cara Lucia

If you attended this roundtable and have feedback on it, please share it here. If you have ideas for future caucuses, or would like to help facilitate, please send your ideas to nirsa@nirsa.org or contact a member of the NIRSA Board of Directors.

Please note that caucuses are not recorded.
This allows attendees to participate authentically and vulnerably in this dialogue.

This caucus is a part of NIRSA’s commitment to engaging in conversation and organizing action. Together we want to listen, learn, use our voices, and organize action.

Join us for an opening dialogue on not only the current tragedies but the larger systems and culture that create and sustain racism in the United States. This conversation – the first of many – will wrestle with white complicity and privilege, as well as the guilt and fragility that accompany them; it will focus on our ensuing responsibility and accountability. This conversation will embrace vulnerability and modeling and be facilitated by NIRSA Board members Cara Lucia and Derek Hottell. All are welcome to listen and/or participate but the focus will be for NIRSA’s members who identify as white to do this work.

If you have an idea or would like to facilitate a caucus please let us know at nirsa@nirsa.org or reaching out to a member of the NIRSA Board of Directors.
