Common Questions

How do I know which programs offer credits?

Programs that have been pre-approved for CEU/CEC values will be identified in the event app.

Does NIRSA offer the opportunity to earn continuing education credits toward other credentials?

Yes! The Triventure schedule includes sessions that have been pre-approved* for AqP and ACSM credits.  Not all sessions in the program qualify for CEUs. Please look for the sessions marked with those CEUs.

To receive a verification of your attendance, and to claim your CEUs with the organizations listed below, you must use the event app to complete a session evaluation. You will be provided with a courtesy transcript approximately 4-6 weeks after the event. NIRSA does not submit your records to any credentialing organizations.

It is the responsibility of the credential holder to be familiar with their credential requirements and to maintain appropriate records according to those requirements.

Registry of Collegiate Recreational Sports Professionals (RCRSP)

This event will offer attendees the opportunity to earn NIRSA CEUs to apply towards the Registry of Collegiate Recreational Sports Professional (RCRSP) designation. Sessions will be marked as NIRSA CEUs.

Aquatic Professional Designation (AqP)

Aquatic Professional Designation

For more information about this designation, visit this website.

The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)

The American College of Sports Medicine’s Professional Education Committee certifies that “NIRSA: Leaders in Collegiate Recreation” meets the criteria for official ACSM Approved Provider status from (2016 – December 2019). Providership # 716044

Attendance Record

If your credential requires you to submit record of your attendance, NIRSA will issue courtesy transcripts to those who request one by completing a session evaluation.

To receive a courtesy transcript, you must complete a session evaluation using the app and include your name and email when prompted at the end of each session evaluation. A transcript of your attendance will be emailed to you within 6 weeks after the event for you to keep for your files.

What if I don’t have access to the event app or I need to document my attendance to petition for credits for another credential?

If you do not have access to the event app to submit the request, you may pick up a CEU form at the event registration desk.  You will use that to track your CEUs. If your credential requires a signature, you may ask the session host to sign the form to verify your attendance.

Other reminders for RCRSPs:

To renew their credential, RCRSP designation holders must earn 45 CEUs within three years.  They must submit a list of qualifying education activities with their renewal application. It is the intention of the transcript to help you with your recordkeeping, but NIRSA does not maintain this information for you nor does NIRSA track RCRSP designation holders’ attendance at events.

For more information about earning and maintaining your RCRSP credential, please refer to the RCRSP Handbook which can be accessed on the Registry website.
