NIRSA students and professionals, especially those involved in risk management, will be interested to learn about a new partnership between the Pac-12 Conference and associate member U.S. Council for Athletes’ Health (USCAH). The three-year partnership seeks to increase the focus on health and wellbeing of student athletes by revolutionizing the student-athlete healthcare experience.

An associate member new to the NIRSA family since February, USCAH will work with the Pac-12 to provide healthcare delivery assessment, health and safety education, and institutional athletic medicine policy and procedure review—services that all NIRSA members and schools also have access to. The Pac-12 becomes the first Division I athletics conference to become a league-wide USCAH partner, joining a roster of six Division II, III and junior college conferences.

USCAH grants Pac-12 institutions access to the Athletics Healthcare Administrators Association (AHAA) membership platform, which offers peer and expert insight, resources, and news focused on best practices in athletic healthcare delivery. Also available to Pac-12 institutions is USCAH’s e-learning platform dedicated to health and safety topics for student athletes, coaches, and staff.
