The 26th NIRSA National Soccer Championships are just four months away and we are calling all officials! The NIRSA Championship Series is extending the officiating opportunity to NISOA-certificated officials. A select number of spots on the NIRSA National Soccer Championships team of officials will be reserved for qualified NISOA-certified NIRSA member officials who apply by the Monday, August 12 deadline.

“We look forward to the seasonal temperatures and wide-open blue skies of Round Rock, TX,” says Erik Jaeke, Associate Director at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Director of Officials at the National Soccer Championships. “This year, we are excited to announce that NCAA Division I Assignors from around the country will be in attendance to serve as mentors, and to identify referee talent for their conferences. This presents a unique opportunity for referees to advance their career and open themselves to new possibilities.”

Erik continues, “We are seeking referees from across the country—and in particular those who are also NIRSA members—to join us in Texas for, in the words of one of last year’s referees, ‘the best tournament I’ve ever been a part of.’ Apply now, and hopefully we’ll see you in November!”

Any NIRSA member with prior experience officiating collegiate soccer and who is also a current NISOA member is encouraged to apply. The application can be found online and are due Monday, August 12.

Are you a student official? Well we have exciting news, the 2019 NIRSA National Soccer Championships has added a Unified Division and we are calling on our student soccer officials to be a part of this year’s national tournament and officiate the new Unified Division. Applications will open on our website on Monday, August 5. Be on the lookout if you’re interested in officiating!
