NIRSA’s Health & Wellbeing Task Force has been hard at work preparing to assess NIRSA members’ understanding of and relation to the concepts of health and wellbeing. The assessment will be completed through two main methods: survey and discussion.

The survey will be open to all NIRSA members, including students, professionals, and associates. This is your opportunity to contribute to the Association’s future direction and work in wellbeing!

The survey instrument is being finalized and will launch via email after the Fourth of July holiday, during the week of July 8. The survey will remain open until Friday, August 2, 2019. The purpose of the survey is to:

  • Identify a baseline of NIRSA members’ understanding of and relation to the concepts of health and wellbeing
  • Understand the national landscape
  • Understand member needs
  • Assist in identifying solutions to member needs
  • Direct the future work of the Health & Wellbeing Task Force

Once the survey data has been analyzed, an initial review will be shared during fall regional and state conferences. There will be an opportunity to ask questions as well as share additional feedback. The task force will use the survey results to develop educational opportunities at NIRSA 2020 in Phoenix, AZ.

The task force will also use the survey results to develop a plan to address immediate and long-term member needs as well as develop resources, educational components, and toolkits that may be used on our campuses.

All NIRSA members, professionals and students alike, are strongly encouraged to partake in the survey. The more individuals who participate in the assessment process, the better informed the task force will be to understand what members’ most pressing needs are and what types of solutions they would view as most helpful.
