You’ve heard your peers talk about it since last June, so don’t miss out on next year’s event! The 2019 NIRSA Directors Institute is scheduled for June 10–12 in beUTAHful Park City, UT!

Developed to be the premier educational and networking retreat for campus recreation directors and chief administrators, the institute creates an intimate environment that supports the facilitation of focused and intensive conversation and networking. To maintain that intimacy, attendance is capped at 60, so be certain to register early! Based on the success of last year’s event (100% of attendee survey responses reported they would recommend this event to a colleague), educational content will be a mix of presentations—panel and invited speakers—as well as opportunities to engage in candid conversations exploring current and emerging challenges and innovation in higher education and collegiate recreation.

Need more convincing? Linda Knight, Executive Director of Health & Wellness at the College of William & Mary, says, “I went to the first NIRSA Directors Institute and it exceeded my expectation. I learned so much from talking with directors (some I had never met before) from all over the United States and Canada. There were vice presidents at the institute that really understood the value of recreation in the higher education setting, and they shared a lot of helpful information about our role and how we can best assist them in their role. I’m looking forward to going again next year.”

And Marc Falkenstein, Director at the University of the Pacific, says, “The NIRSA Directors Institute had a profound impact on me and my career development. The high-level conversations and presentations provided me with tools and skills to best tell my department’s story on my campus. I returned to my campus energized and eager to share what I learned with my team, supervisor, and vice president. I look forward to attending this type of event again in the future.”

Still need convincing? Consider that the high elevation of Park City will open your brain cells to untold levels of creativity, innovation, and intellect. Okay, I just made that part up. Seriously, Park City in the summer is every bit as inspiring as it is in the winter. At this institute, you’re going to have stimulating and impactful conversations and revelations, and you’ll very possibly have your mind blown. I hope to see you there!

Registration for this premier event opens the week of December 10—make sure you don’t miss out on this fantastic professional development opportunity!
