The Herman Williams Founders Outstanding Service Award is named in honor of one of the Emerging Recreational Sports Leaders (ERSL) founders who made extraordinary contributions in advancing innovative strategies to improve opportunities for minorities in campus recreation.

Candidates should have demonstrated innovative leadership qualities that have improved the ERSL Conference and impacted minorities in the field of collegiate recreation. They should also be at a stage in their careers where they still can and will make significant contributions to campus rec, minorities, and the ERSL Conference in the future. This award is meant to encourage and support those seeking sustained improvements for minorities in the field of collegiate recreation. To learn more about this award, check out the NIRSA awards webpage.

The deadline for your Herman Williams Founders Outstanding Service Award nomination submission is quickly approaching! Don’t forget to nominate those who are living a life of service and continue to be about the business of providing opportunities for minorities or underrepresented students and professionals. Please visit the NIRSA website to nominate and let someone know their contributions are appreciated—nominations are due by Monday, December 10.
