Since fall, NIRSA members have been actively engaged in the process of strategic planning for the Association for 2018-2021. Whether it was filling out a survey, attending a session at regional conferences or state workshops, or serving as a Strategic or Accountability partner, more than 1,500 members have lent their time and expertise to planning this Association’s future.

NIRSA 2018 attendees are invited to come see the results of everyone’s input into the environmental scans and feedback throughout multiple drafts! The Strategic Plan webpage has recently been updated, and the most current drafts of the plan will be posted online soon.

2018-2021 NIRSA Strategic Plan format

Prior to the Annual Meeting of Members, the 2018-2021 Strategic Plan webpage will be updated to host the most recent drafts of the strategic plan. The plan will include three documents: an overview of the planning process, a one-page visual of the plan, and an accompanying narrative document designed to explain the visual in more detail.

NIRSA 2018

If you’re at NIRSA 2018, we hope you’ll join us for the Annual Meeting of Members on Tuesday, March 6 from 2:30-3:30pm in the Mile High Ballroom 1-2. The Strategic Planning Task Force members will be onstage to present and discuss this draft of the plan, as well as how we got here. In addition, they will help celebrate the many accomplishments of the 2013-2018 Strategic Plan.

Members of the Strategic Planning Task Force will also be present at the Member Connection Meetings, taking place Tuesday, March 6 from 5:00-6:30pm, to take questions and collect feedback.

At both the Annual Meeting of Members and the Member Connection Meetings, Task Force members will distribute hard copies of the visual draft of the plan. Feel free to take these cards back to campus with you, or use the back of the cards to write down your feedback. Comment cards can then be turned in to the NIRSA registration desk.

And don’t forget – if you’ve participated in the Strategic Planning process in any way – from attending sessions to completing the survey – be sure to add the “Strategic Planning Participant” ribbon to your name badge!

Not attending NIRSA 2018? Still get involved!

If you’re not attending NIRSA 2018, we still want to hear from you! Check out the drafts that have emerged from all of the hard work and input once they’re posted to the 2018-2021 Strategic Plan webpage; you can submit your feedback via email until March 14.

And still mark your calendar for the Annual Meeting of Members on Tuesday, March 6 from 2:30-3:30pm Mountain Time, because the session will be live streamed right to you! Information about how to watch will be posted to the NIRSA 2018 webpage as the meeting gets closer.
