For the 24th Annual NIRSA National Soccer Championships, the NIRSA Championship Series Committee is excited to once again extend an officiating opportunity to NIRSA members who are NISOA certified and have experience working collegiate matches. A select number of spots on the NIRSA National Soccer Championships team of officials will be reserved for qualified NISOA-certified NIRSA member officials who apply  by the August 11 deadline.

The 2017 NIRSA National Soccer Championships will take place at Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix, AZ from November 16–18 with an orientation meeting taking place at 7:00pm on November 15. The selected NIRSA member officials will receive a stipend per game, lodging, and meals during the event.

“As a NIRSA member who enjoys officiating soccer with NISOA, receiving the invitation to officiate the NIRSA National Soccer Championship felt like my worlds were colliding,” says Erik Jaeke, Associate Director at University of Wisconsin-Madison and Co-Director of Competition at the National Soccer Championships. “The tournament features the best NISOA officials in the country, top-notch competition, comfortable amenities, and a high level of organization. Combine these factors with the opportunity to network and grow with NIRSA colleagues, and you’ve got an amazing opportunity.”

“Not only do I recommend this event to any NISOA member,” continues Erik, “I strongly encourage any NIRSA member who currently officiates USSF and/or high school to contact their local NISOA chapter, become a member, and apply to officiate the next NIRSA National Soccer Championship!”

Any NIRSA member with prior experience officiating collegiate soccer and who is also a current NISOA member is encouraged to apply. Applications can be found on the NIRSA website and are due Friday, August 11.
