NIRSA and the Program Committee are pleased to announce that Baltimore, Maryland has been selected as the host city for the 2016 NIRSA Intramural Sports Institute! This institute will occur June 22–24 at the Embassy Suites Baltimore – Inner Harbor.

This institute is a focused professional development opportunity valuable for both students and professionals working in intramural sports. Whether you’re an experienced intramurals leader, new to the field, a graduate student considering a career in recreation, or a vender looking to network and showcase your product, the 2016 Institute is the place to be. “We are super excited about the 2016 NIRSA Intramural Sports Institute,” says Chris Schmoldt, Director of Intramural Sports at Florida State University and Chair of the 2016 NIRSA Intramural Sports Institute Committee. “This is a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues in the field and learn from one another. Cannot wait to see you in June!”

With educational sessions, discussion roundtables, the opportunity to tour first-class recreation centers, fields, and parks—as well as the chance to meet with intramural sports leaders from across the country—you’ll find a wealth of tried-and-true best practices. You’ll also find cutting-edge perspectives to bring home to your intramural sports program!

In addition to the fantastic program offerings, you’ll be able to get out and discover the vibrant charm of Baltimore. The Embassy Suites Inner Harbor is a downtown hotel located just steps from popular destinations like the Camden Yards—home to the Baltimore Orioles; the Baltimore Ravens’ M&T Bank Stadium; Howard Peters Rawlings Conservatory & Botanic Gardens; The Maryland Zoon in Baltimore; and much more. Not to mention that guests of the host hotel will receive free cooked-to-order breakfast and complimentary drinks and snacks at the nightly evening reception!

So, plan on joining NIRSA and your fellow colleagues in Baltimore for the 2016 NIRSA Intramural Sports Institute. We can’t wait to see you!
