NIRSA Club Basketball is ramping up for its third season and excited to announce a new structure, a new format, and even a new name! Registration for the NIRSA Club Basketball Conference—formerly known as the NIRSA Club Basketball League—will open Tuesday, September 15.

The cost to join the conference is $933, which can be broken into three easy payments of $311–due October 15, February 1, and March 1. The amount covers three weekend events with 7–14 games for the season, all officiating and athletic training fees, as well as the conference winner’s entry fee into the 2016 NIRSA National Basketball Championships at The Ohio State University.

This year, we are introducing a new feature specific to the NIRSA Club Basketball Conference: Club Regionals. Club Regionals are smaller weekend events whose sole purpose is to facilitate conference games. As each Club Regional will only need two courts and minimal staffing, this as a great opportunity for institutions that typically wouldn’t be able to host to get in on the action! Likewise, student officials looking for a professional development opportunity in a more relaxed environment are encouraged to participate at Club Regional events.

Conference play is set to begin in the spring for most divisions. Club teams can expect between 4–6 games per Club Regional depending on the size of the divisions formed. They can also expect to attend the NIRSA Regional Basketball Championship of their choice.

Team captains must sign up through IMLeagues by October 15. Once the registration period has closed, areas with enough teams to form a conference will be notified of the expected payment schedule, dates and locations of conference play, as well as any other league logistics.
