By 2013-2014 Student Leadership Team
To fully wrap up our experience during the past year would be nearly impossible.
As a result, we, the 2013-2014 Student Leadership Team, have written a letter for you to read.
And last, but not least, you will find a YouTube video recapping our year in case you missed it!
Dear NIRSA,
This past year has quite possibly been the most challenging yet rewarding experience of our lives. We, the 2013-2014 Student Leadership Team, have had the opportunity to serve you all in a leadership capacity that not many will experience. We are extremely honored to have had this privilege.
Equally as important, we have had the opportunity to serve as a part of the Member Network, which serves as the voice of our members and continues to work toward a common goal — engaging our NIRSA members. Together we worked on advancing the roles in NIRSA, creating leadership and networking opportunities for students (Student Lead Ons, Regional Conferences, Mentor Program, etc), and streamlining our communication within our regions, among many other things.
Through these opportunities and experiences, we have learned a great deal about ourselves professionally and personally. From working with undergraduates, graduates, and professionals, we have been challenged to become better leaders, to think outside of the box, and to advocate for the professional development of you, our NIRSA membership. We thoroughly enjoyed these opportunities and we appreciated serving you. In addition, we enjoyed the opportunity to connect with you all personally, and, through that, you have taught us we are all part of a family.
ONE LARGE, CRAZY, BEAUTIFUL FAMILY.
And the greatest thing about this “NIRSA Family” is that everyone truly cares. Our association is full of so many professionals and students who genuinely care about you and the impact you’re making. We challenge you to embrace this loving family and all the crazy colleagues that come with it! We are truly honored to be apart of NIRSA and now have so many brothers, fathers, sisters, and mothers that we never imagined having just 14 months ago.
To every member of NIRSA, we are SO, SO, SO grateful to have had the opportunity to serve you and to give back to an association that has given us so much. Thank you to all of those that have supported and encouraged us along the way.
We look forward to seeing the future successes of the 2014-15 Student Leadership Team and cannot wait to invest in the future of NIRSA as young professionals! Thank you for a wonderful year!
