NIRSA, in partnership with National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) and Memorial University, is delighted to announce registration for the second annual International Experiential Learning Institute will open February 10!
Held May 21-23 in Newfoundland, Canada, the International Experiential Learning Institute (IELI) promises a unique experience for NIRSA professionals: the chance to expand their global viewpoint while training in experiential leadership and leadership techniques with other globally focused professionals. In our increasingly globalizing world and ever-diversifying campuses, honing these skills and perspectives is essential to successfully live our values and best serve today’s students.

In addition to sharpening attendees’ global perspectives and strengthening their leadership skills, the Institute will also allow them to experience the unique and rich culture of North America’s oldest city, St. John’s, Newfoundland. The 2014 Institute will emphasize experiential education and how experiential learning relates to campus engagement. Prospective topics for sessions include: developing learning outcomes, experiential leadership training, effective reflection techniques, and assessment practices.
The Institute is happy to boast keynote speaker and Scholar-in-Residence Susan R. Komives, who, among her many accolades, co-authored Leadership for a Better World: Understanding the Social Change Model of Leadership Development.
Don’t miss out on early bird registration for this event, which offers pricing at $495 per person until May 1. After this date, registration will be $565 per person. Registration will include breakfast for those staying in campus housing, lunch, light refreshments, and dinner. Space is limited for this event, so look to register early, and watch the NIRSA Facebook page for a possible early announcement for registration.
