Frequently Asked Questions

Conference registration will open in early November, following the NIRSA Board of Directors Midyear meetings where the 2018 Budget is reviewed and adopted.

Reservations cannot be made until you register for NIRSA 2018. Once registered, you will be emailed a receipt/confirmation that will include a link to book your room at one of the Conference hotels for the discounted rate of $179-$199/night for 1-4 occupants.

NIRSA will have two conference hotels in 2018.  The Hyatt Regency with a block of 1000 rooms on peak nights, is our Headquarter Hotel and is across the street from the Colorado Convention Center.  The Honor Award Banquet will be held at the Hyatt Regency.  The Grand Hyatt, ~ 2 blocks northeast of the Hyatt Regency, has a block of ~200 rooms on peak nights.

Amenities at both of the Conference hotels include:

  • Complimentary Wi-Fi in all sleeping rooms
  • Complimentary access to fitness center and pool
  • A 25% discount on valet and self-parking rates (limited to 50 vehicles/night/conference hotel)
  • The Opening General Session will have a late start on the night of Sunday, March 4 (7:00-9:00pm) .
  • The Expo Grand Opening will be in the late afternoon on Monday, March 5 (4:00-7:00pm), followed by the All Conference Social (8:30pm-11:30pm)
  • The Mark Fletcher Fun Run/Walk will make it’s return
  • NIRSA will no longer be offering a “formal” Guest Program. Contact Loretta Capra from the 2018 Host Committee, who is coordinating some “pay-as-you-go” options for interested guests.

The Convention Center faces 14th street and two blocks away is the mile long “16th Street Pedestrian Mall”, home to over 40 restaurants and cafés, 300 locally owned and chain stores and anchored on the south end by Denver Pavilions a shopping and dining complex with 12 movie theaters and two dozen shops and restaurants.  Denver receives an average of 300 days of sunshine a year and is at the base of the rugged and beautiful Rocky Mountains.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is included in the negotiated hotel guest rate and will be available in sleeping rooms of the NIRSA contracted hotels. All attendees and presenters will have access to “browsing speed Wi-Fi” on the Meeting Level (street Level) of the Convention Center.

If you are flying, Denver International is your airport of choice.  There are no hotel shuttles to downtown Denver, ~23 miles away.  Alternate transportation options include:

  • Airport Rail to Downtown – At a cost of only $9 each way, travelers can take the airport rail from Denver International Airport (DEN) to Denver Union Station and vice versa. The 23-mile ride takes approximately 37 minutes.   From Union Station, travelers can take the free hybrid shuttle buses that travel up and down the 16th Street Mall.  The stop (corner of Welton & 16th street) for the Hyatt Regency and the Grand Hyatt is ~1.0 mile from Union Station.  If the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall shuttle is too cumbersome with luggage, travelers can take an Uber, Lyft or taxi from Union Station to their hotel.
  • SuperShuttle – Approximately $28 one way/person from airport to hotel.  Reservations needed.
  • Uber/Lyft/Taxi from the airport to your hotel.
