NIRSA has extended the deadline to apply to serve as the 2019 Conference Program Committee Chair! Consider using your talents to help shape the future of NIRSA—give back to your association and our profession, and apply to serve by March 8!

The Program Committee oversees the development of educational content and is critical to a successful Annual Conference. The selected NIRSA member serves for three years in key leadership positions. They will serve as Chair Elect in 2018, Chair in 2019, and Consultant in 2020.

Serving as Conference Program Committee Chair is not only a wonderful way to serve the Association, but an extraordinary professional development opportunity. Throughout conference planning, the Chair will have the opportunity to network with NIRSA members throughout the country as they identify emerging issues and trends in collegiate recreation while refining their leadership and event-planning skills.

The Chair collaborates with the Committee’s NIRSA Headquarters’ member to establish working timelines. They lead the Program Committee’s work in recruiting presentations and preconference workshops; selecting speakers—including Opening and Closing General Session keynote speakers; evaluating and selecting educational session proposals; working the Program Table at the Annual Conference; and coordinating session monitors.

This appointment begins on May 1. For a more detailed position description, visit the leadership opportunities page of the NIRSA website. To apply, please submit your application by March 8.
