Since the NIRSA Institutional Data Set opened on its new and improved platform for data collection in February, over 430 professional members from over 200 institutions have accessed the platform or started entering their data! With such a robust response rate, comparative results are now available. NIRSA members can now sign into the IDS platform and access question-by-question comparisons of the results. To view these comparative results, your institution must have completed at least 50% of the survey questions. As data collection remains open, results will continue to change and improve as more Association members participate in data entry.

As a benefit of institutional membership, members at member institutions can now also filter and create personalized peer clusters against which to compare their institutions. Soon, they will also be able to run personalized dynamic reports. To update your institution’s membership and access the full potential of the platform’s results capabilities, please contact NIRSA’s Membership Department.

To help you get started entering data, and to better understand the results and reporting capabilities, an IDS instructional webinar is now available on the Institutional Data Set webpage. On February 24, over 60 NIRSA members attended this webinar with platform host Dynamic Benchmarking. Check out the clean recording of the webinar, which is free of some day-of technical difficulties:

This exciting platform transition is made possible by generous support from donors to the NIRSA Foundation. You can learn more about the transition process and the platform’s improved benchmarking and assessment capabilities on the NIRSA website or on the NIRSA Institutional Data Set webpage. We also invite you to attend the educational session “The NIRSA Institutional Data Set: Exploring the Value and Capabilities of the New Benchmarking Platform” at the 2016 NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Expo taking place in Kissimmee, FL from April 3–6.

For more information about the NIRSA Institutional Data Set, or to request assistance using the platform, please contact NIRSA Special Projects Coordinator Alice Kersting.
