Aspiring female professionals in higher education and student affairs won’t want to miss the opportunity to gather, grow, and encourage each other at the 2015 Women’s Leadership Institute, which will take place December 6–9 at the Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island in Amelia Island, Florida. Registration for this fantastic institute will open later this summer!

At the 2014 Women’s Leadership Institute, statistics from the national study Benchmarking Women’s Leadership in the United States revealed several alarming and discouraging statistics about women’s leadership roles in higher education and student affairs. According to the study, women comprise just 32% of Chief Academic Officers at doctoral institutions, 22% of Presidents at doctoral institutions, and 28.4% of Board of Trustees at academic institutions. Sadly, the percentages for individuals who identify as women of color are even more disproportionately uneven.

These statistics serve as a catalyst for the 2015 Women’s Leadership institute. The institute will strive to give women in higher education and student affairs information and support towards their pursuit of executive leadership positions on campuses. It also wants to expand the knowledge base of all partner organizations regarding topics related to being a woman working on a college campus.
