The 2015 NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Expo in Grapevine, Texas was a fantastic experience for everyone involved. NIRSA members enjoyed wonderful educational sessions, listened to inspiring speakers, and had the chance to marvel at the latest fitness equipment in the Expo Hall.

Behind the scenes, a tremendous amount of work and effort went into making the 2015 NIRSA Annual Conference possible. The following numbers offer just a small glimpse of how willing NIRSA members were to help when it was needed most!

  • 5—the number of Mark Fletcher Fun Run/Walk volunteers
  • 7—the number of Recreational Sports Expo volunteers
  • 20—the number of members who volunteered to help man conference registration
  • 50—the number of members who served as session reviewers
  • 160—the number of members who volunteered at the Career Opportunities Center
  • 161—the number of members who served as session monitors
  • Countless—the number of hours dedicated to Association business by the 2015 Host Committee

Here’s a big Texas thank you to all the NIRSA members who generously gave their time to help make NIRSA 2015 a resounding success! And if you had a great time volunteering for NIRSA 2015, there are actually already opportunities to help out with NIRSA 2016, which will take place in Kissimmee, Florida from April 3-6!

One exciting volunteer opportunity is to become a NIRSA 2016 session reviewer. Volunteering as a session reviewer helps ensure that the 2016 NIRSA Annual Conference meets the diverse needs of our membership; session reviewers improve the quality of educational content and contribute to the professional development of fellow NIRSA members. If you’re interested in reviewing sessions, please fill out and submit the 2016 NIRSA Annual Conference Session Reviewer Interest Form by July 20.

Again, thank you so much for helping make NIRSA 2015 a wonderful Annual Conference! We know NIRSA 2016 is going to be as big a success thanks to your generosity and dedication to the Association.
