By Cara McFadden, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sport and Event Management at Elon University and 2016 NIRSA Annual Conference Program Committee Chair

Fellow leaders in collegiate recreation, I encourage you to consider presenting at the 2016 NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreational Sport Expo, which will take place in Kissimmee, Florida at the Gaylord Palms from April 3-6!

Submitting a presentation proposal offers you an amazing opportunity to share knowledge related to NIRSA’s core competencies and strategic values with your collegiate recreation colleagues. As an Association member, as a volunteer, as a leader, and as a rec professional, you can help ensure collegiate recreation’s bright future by presenting at NIRSA 2016!

The Conference Program Committee is looking for presentation proposals promoting best practices that endorse NIRSA’s core competencies and, subsequently, support this year’s conference theme:  “A Strong Core, A Bright Future.

By embracing our values and combining our many talents, we hope to create a great conference experience that is focused on each and every attendee building a strong core. We want to the conference program to overflow with educational content that enhances both the individual and the entire campus community; you have the potential to inspire attendees to take valuable information back to their campuses and communities and, in doing so, influence change on campuses across North America and beyond.

Forms, topic areas, deadlines, and complete guidelines for presentation proposal submissions can be found on the NIRSA website. The deadline to submit a proposal is August 12. And be sure to keep an eye on the NIRSA News and on the #NIRSA2016 hashtag on Twitter and Instagram for all the latest NIRSA 2016 updates and information!
