NIRSA relies heavily on member expertise and commitment for its evolution and advancement. With that in mind, we are pleased to announce the 2015–2016 election results and appointments for the NIRSA Board of Directors, NIRSA Foundation Board, the NIRSA Services Corporation Board, the NIRSA Championship Series, as well as to the Strategic Values Commissions, the NIRSA Annual Program Committee, and the NIRSA School of Collegiate Recreation faculty! The Association is fortunate to have such dedicated members to look to for leadership and support.

NIRSA Board of Directors

The NIRSA Board of Directors is a group of seven members who oversee NIRSA’s strategic planning and coordinate many stakeholders involved in NIRSA growth and operations. The Board is pleased to announce the election of Bill Crocket, RCRSP, Executive Director–Campus Life Services & Campus Center at the University of Baltimore, Maryland as President Elect and David Davenport, Director at Austin Peay State University, as At-Large Director. Their experience in the profession will lend to the visionary direction of the Board as it continues working on new projects.

The NIRSA Board of Directors is also pleased to announce the appointment of Pam Su, Director of Campus Recreation at San Francisco State University, and Eric Nickel, Director of University Recreation at James Madison University, as Annual Directors to the  NIRSA Board of Directors.

NIRSA Foundation

The NIRSA Foundation is NIRSA’s philanthropic organization, which is governed by an eight-member board. This group of leaders tirelessly volunteers their time and energy to providing NIRSA members with meaningful opportunities for scholarship, research, and professional development. The Foundation Board is pleased to welcome the following members to the  Foundation Board of Directors where they will each start serving a three-year term:

  • Eric Stein, Senior Associate Director of Athletics for PE, Recreation, and Wellness at Stanford University

The NIRSA Board of Directors recently elected these leaders for the open Director positions.

We are pleased to announce that Demond Pryor, Director, Department of Recreation at University of Toledo, has been appointed to this position.

NIRSA School of Collegiate Recreation

The NIRSA School of Collegiate Recreation provides attendees with a broad range of materials designed to enhance a recreation professional’s management and problem-solving skills. There is both a Level I and a Level II of the NIRSA School: Level I is offered two years in a row and then Level II is offered that third year.

The NIRSA Board of Directors recently appointed Ali Cross, Assistant Director of Fitness and Assessment at Virginia Tech, and Yvette Kell, Director of Campus Recreation at Centers, LLC at the University of Missouri-St Louis, to the faculty to fill the recently vacant positions.

The Association would like to congratulate all of the newly-elected and appointed members to these various leadership positions, and to thank them for their commitment to furthering the collegiate recreation profession. NIRSA would not exist without such dedicated members!
